    From 1981 to 2012 I was the Art Teacher at the Browns River Middle School in Jericho, VT.  I have a Masters Degree in Art Education, and over the years I have taught art classes and workshops, for both children and adults,  at The Fletcher Farm School  in Ludlow, VT, Studio Place Arts in Barre, VT., The Shelburne Craft School in Shelburne, VT., Artist's Mediums at Taft's Corners, VT., River Arts in Morrisville, T.W.Wood Gallery in Montpelier, and MMU After Dark at the Mount Mansfield High School in Jericho, VT.   I also teach private art lessons, at $40 per hour.  Below is a list of the art subjects I teach.  To arrange for me to teach a class at your venue, or to teach you private art lessons, contact me at brunelles3@aol.com
        ACRYLIC PAINTING

    I teach this class either as a two day workshop, at six hours per day, or as a seven week class, two hours per week.  Students learn all of the basics of painting with acrylics.  Topics include: Using brushstrokes to create various effects, mixing colors, lights, darks and shadows, composing the painting, additives for acrylic paints, using tints and washes, scumbling, and glazing

                                                                      
              CARTOONING

   I have taught this class both as a one-day and as a two-day work- shop.  Students learn all of the basics of drawing cartoons for either a comic strip or a comic book.  Topics covered include:  Designing characters, setting up a panel, dialog balloons, sound effects, inking and coloring, setting up a gag and punchline, adding action, and a brief history of cartoons. 

        
                 DRAWING

    I offer this as a two day class, six hours per day.  Topics include: Using One and Two-Point Per-spective, proportions of the human face and body, using shading to create texture, composing a drawing, drawing with pen and ink, drawing with charcoal. 

    PEN AND INK DRAWING

   I offer this class as an four hour afternoon workshop.  Topics include:  Using the nib to get various line weights, shading with cross hatching, balancing solid blacks and white spaces in a composition, and painting with ink washes.
